Eaton Fair is Haunted??
NewsCustomers of a south-west shopping centre are being warned about strange and ghostly activities that have been occurring over recent weeks.
Eaton Fair Shopping Centre in the north of Bunbury is being described by some as ‘haunted’, with a spate of spooky occurrences being reported and caught on CCTV cameras.
A local shopper, who asked not to be named said they had experienced things which were difficult to understand.
“The shopping centre was winding down for the night. The lights were starting to dim as stores closed up. The crowds were thinning, but my friends and I were still hungry, so we decided to stop by San Churro to grab a hot chocolate”, the shopper said.
“As we were walking, we felt a strange chill run down our backs. Then, we saw a shadow that we followed to Kmart. Next thing we know, our shopping carts are full and we’ve checked out of Kmart. The only explanation is that we were posessed. Now we have had to explain to our partners how we came into possession of all these new home goods”, said the shopper.
This is just one of the many stories that can be found on the Eaton Fair Shopping Centre Facebook page about strange encounters at the centre.
The first post of a strange sighting was made weeks ago and they’ve grown more frequent since then with centre management reporting mysterious events being caught on CCTV footage.
“We’ve never seen anything like this,” said Customer Service Officer, Allison Bailey. Ms Bailey was visibly shaken as she reviewed the footage with us.
She glanced around before lowering her voice to a whisper. “There are strange shapes and figures appearing for just a second and then completely disappearing. No one wants to work the night shift anymore. It just feels so… unsettling” she said.
“This is not the first we’ve heard of strange things happening at the centre, it’s just the first time we’ve been able to catch anything on camera. Customers have reported seeing strange things one minute that disappear the next. We get noise complaints but we just can’t work out where the sounds are coming from.” Said Mrs Bailey
An Eaton Fair security guard who spoke on the condition of remaining anonymous said that the events that led him to find the camera footage were “unearthly”.
“It was a weird night. We had locked up, did a walk through to make sure everything was secure. Then, we heard laughter and a commotion being caused in the centre’s Main St Mall where eateries such as the Coffee Club and The Nile Grill & Kebabs are located”, the guard said.
“We thought it was just some kids being rowdy having snuck in somehow. But when we checked the area, it was empty. After this happening a few times, we pulled up the footage to find nothing apart from a quick, blurry figure. It’s not much. Still, we wanted to share our footage to see if anyone else in the Eaton area has experienced anything similar”, he said.
Eaton Fair has now taken extraordinary steps to having Dr Gunter Hauntz, an expert scientist advise on how to rid the centre of these paranormal creatures. The scientist has created a Halloween Game app which helps people to create powerful potions which will protect the shopping centre from ghostly / witch-like activities.
“I have been able to create an app which allows everyday people like you and me to concoct potions to save the centre from this haunting”, Dr Hauntz said.
“I have recently set up an active cauldron in the middle of Eaton Fair. We need to come together as a community and download the Halloween app, play the game and then head to the centre and use the cauldron to produce defense potions”, he said. You can play the game and visit the cauldron from this Saturday 15th October.
Dr Hauntz has also built into the Halloween Game app the ability for users to win hundreds of prizes from local stores, with Eaton Fair retailers wanting to do anything help exorcise the curse.
Eaton Fair centre management has asked all concerned locals to stay updated with reported strange activities, new footage and to download the Halloween Game on their website here
